Gem price estimator

For sellers setting a price and buyers checking one. Fill in what you know — the more details, the closer the estimate.

How rich the colour is. Vivid = deep, glowing colour; light = pale.

Eye clean = nothing you can see without a loupe.

Heated is normal for sapphire and ruby. “Natural – unheated” only counts with a lab report.

How the estimate works

  1. Gems are priced per carat. Pitu.lk finds similar stones — the same kind, from half to double the weight — among gem ads on Pitu.lk and other Sri Lankan sites, and the prices sellers tell us their gems really sold for.
  2. Each one is adjusted to your stone: stronger colour, no heating, a lab report and a bigger size raise the price per carat; inclusions, a weak cut or unknown treatment lower it.
  3. With enough similar gems you get their middle range. With few, they are blended with Pitu.lk’s reference guide, and the confidence says so.

An estimate, not a valuation or a lab test. For a costly stone, get a lab report and more than one dealer’s opinion.
