How to use Pitu.lk

1. 1Tap Sign in, then Create an account. Use your phone number or email, or continue with Google or Facebook where shown.
2. 2Confirm your phone number with the code we send. A confirmed number shows buyers you are real.
3. 3Pick your language — English, සිංහල or தமிழ் — from the menu or the bottom of any page. Pitu.lk remembers it.
4. 4Everything about you is under Account: your ads, messages, favourites, alerts and settings.

1. 1Type what you are looking for in the search box — a brand, a model or just a word like “fridge”. Suggestions appear as you type.
2. 2Choose a category, or tap one of the category tiles on the home page.
3. 3Add a town or district to see ads near you, or open the map to pick a place.
4. 4Refine with filters: price range, condition, type of ad, seller type, photos or video, and the details that matter for that category (year, mileage, size and more).
5. 5Use Posted to see only the newest ads, and “Leave out ads with these words” to hide what you do not want.
6. 6Sort the results: newest first, lowest or highest price, or best deals first.
7. 7Each filter you use shows as a chip at the top. Tap its × to remove it, or Clear filters to start again.

Tip: On a phone, tap Filters at the bottom of the screen to open every option in one panel. The button shows how many ads match as you choose.

1. 1Results show “All ads, other sites too” by default. Tap “Pitu.lk only” to see just the ads posted here.
2. 2An ad from another site carries that site’s name. Tapping it opens the ad on the original site.
3. 3Prices and stock on other sites can change. Always check the details on the original site before you buy.
4. 4Pitu.lk does not take part in sales made on other sites — contact that site or seller directly.

1. 1Tap Compare on up to four ads — ours or other sites’ — then open the comparison.
2. 2You see price, condition, place and the main details in one table.
3. 3The Price check box above the results shows the typical price for your search and the best deal right now.
4. 4An ad marked as a good price costs less than similar ads.

1. 1Search for what you want, then tap Alert me. Add a lowest and highest price if you like, and save.
2. 2On an ad you like, use Price alert to hear about similar ads in your price range.
3. 3Choose how often you hear from us: as soon as an ad appears, once a day, or once a week.
4. 4Turn email on or off for each alert. Alerts always show in your notifications.
5. 5Change the price, pause, or delete any alert in Account → Alerts & saved searches. You can also pause or delete them all at once.

1. 1Tap Call or WhatsApp to reach the seller straight away, or Show number to see it.
2. 2Tap Message to chat inside Pitu.lk. Your phone number stays private until you share it.
3. 3In a chat you can send photos and make an offer on the price.
4. 4Tap the heart on any ad to save it to your favourites and find it again later.

1. 1Meet in a busy public place and see the item before you pay.
2. 2Never send money in advance to someone you have not met, and never share a one-time code.
3. 3Check vehicle and property papers carefully, at the right office if you can.
4. 4If an ad looks wrong, tap Report on the ad. Our team checks every report.

1. 1Tap Post a free ad and choose the category that fits best.
2. 2Choose the type of ad: For sale, For rent, Auction, Exchange, Offer (a service, deal or job) or Wanted.
3. 3Add clear photos — the first one is the cover. You can add a short video too.
4. 4Write a clear title, the price (mark it negotiable if you are flexible) and fill in every detail. Buyers filter by them.
5. 5Choose your town, check your phone number and post. Most ads go live straight away; some are checked by our team first.

1. 1Edit an ad at any time to change the price, photos or details.
2. 2Bump an ad once a day to move it back to the top of the list.
3. 3See how many people viewed your ad and how many contacted you.
4. 4Mark an ad as sold when it is gone, so buyers stop calling. Expired ads can be renewed.

1. 1Open Live auctions to see what is up for bidding and how long is left.
2. 2Enter your bid on the ad. You are told if someone bids higher.
3. 3Follow every auction you bid on in Account → My bids.
4. 4Sellers choose Auction as the type of ad when posting, with a starting price and how many days it runs.

1. 1Open your shop from Account → My shop. Add your logo, cover, opening hours and contact details.
2. 2The Store dashboard manages your products and stock, orders, quick sales at the counter, customers and reports.
3. 3Download a QR sticker for your shop in several styles and stick it anywhere — customers scan it to open your shop.
4. 4Go live with Live shopping to show products on video and sell while you talk to buyers.

1. 1Post a buying request saying what you need and how much. Suppliers send you their quotes.
2. 2Browse wholesale products and suppliers in Wholesale & B2B.
3. 3Buyers abroad can source Sri Lankan products and find exporters by sector.

1. 1Edit your name, photo and phone number in Account → Profile.
2. 2Choose which notifications reach you by email or on your phone.
3. 3Sign in faster and safer with a passkey — your fingerprint or face on your phone.
4. 4You can delete your account from your profile at any time. Your ads come down with it.

1. 1Play free games in the Games corner, alone or with friends.
2. 2Listen to the radio from the player at the bottom of every page.
