Terms of use

These terms apply to everyone who uses Pitu.lk. Pitu.lk is owned and operated by Raffles Online Platforms (“we”, “us”), 4/27 Galkanda Road, Aniwatte, Kandy, Sri Lanka.

1. What Pitu.lk is

Pitu.lk is an online marketplace. We let people publish ads, open shops, take orders, trade wholesale and go live, and let other people find them. We are not a party to any sale, rental, exchange, order or auction between members, we do not own or inspect the items, and we do not handle payments between buyers and sellers.

2. Accounts

• You can browse and contact sellers without an account. You need an account to post ads, bid, message, order, chat in live shows, save ads or open a shop. We may ask you to confirm your email address or mobile number with a one-time code.
• Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or use Pitu.lk with a parent or guardian.

3. Posting ads

• Only post items and services you are legally allowed to sell or offer, in the right category, with real photos and an honest description and price.
• Not allowed: illegal goods and services, weapons and explosives, drugs and prescription medicines, stolen goods, counterfeit items, protected wildlife, adult content, gambling, lotteries or raffles, pyramid or “get rich” schemes, and anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Video and website links in ads must relate to the item and must not lead to scams, malware or other marketplaces.
• We may review, edit the category of, refuse, or remove any ad, and suspend accounts that break these terms.
• By posting photos and videos you confirm you have the right to use them and allow us to display them on Pitu.lk and in our promotion of your ad.

4. Messages, wholesale and buying requests

• Use messages to discuss genuine deals. No spam, no unsolicited bulk messages, and never ask for advance payments through unofficial channels or for passwords or one-time codes.
• Wholesale prices, minimum orders and quotes are offers from the supplier. A deal is made only when both sides agree on the final terms.
• “Verified business” and “Verified exporter” badges mean we checked the documents shown to us. They are not a guarantee of quality, delivery or export compliance.

5. Auctions

• A bid is a serious offer to buy at that price if you win. Do not bid unless you intend to complete the purchase.
• A bid placed in the final minutes extends the end time. Sellers may set a hidden reserve price; if it is not reached there is no winner.
• After the auction, the winner and seller complete the sale directly. Pitu.lk does not guarantee the item, the payment or the hand-over.

6. Shops and orders

• Shop owners must use their own name, logo and branding, and must not impersonate another business. We may verify or suspend shops at our discretion.
• An order is a request to the shop. The shop confirms it, and is responsible for stock, prices, delivery, returns and refunds. Payment (cash on delivery, bank transfer or on pick-up) is made directly to the shop.
• Shop reviews can only be left after an order and must be honest and about your own experience. Shops may reply publicly. We may remove reviews that are abusive, fake or off-topic.

7. Live shows

• Sellers are responsible for everything shown and said in their live show. The rules for ads apply: no prohibited items, no misleading claims.
• Be respectful in the chat. Sellers and our staff can hide messages, remove viewers and stop a show.
• If you ask to talk to the seller and they accept, your camera and voice are shown to everyone watching for up to 5 minutes, after which you are disconnected automatically. Pitu.lk does not record shows, but anyone watching could record their own screen — do not share anything private.

8. Fees, advertising and paid features

• Posting ads, opening a shop, taking orders and going live are free.
• Optional paid services — banner advertising and, when we introduce them, features such as Top ad or Featured shop — always show their price before you pay. We announce new paid features in advance; nothing you already posted is charged retroactively.
• Advertising bookings are reviewed before payment. Approved dates are held for a limited time while you pay by bank transfer and upload the slip; the campaign is scheduled once we confirm the payment. If we cannot run a campaign we approved and you paid for, we will reschedule it with you or refund you.
• We may refuse any advert or promotion that breaks these terms or the law.

9. Your responsibility and ours

Deals are between buyers and sellers. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from ads, orders, live shows, from dealings between users, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Sri Lankan consumer law.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
